Drains and Sewers

Every home should recently have received a booklet from Thames Water about ownership/responsibility for drains and sewers. The booklet clarifies the current situation and the changes which will take place with effect from 1 October this year. Thames Water will then take assume responsibility for some drains and sewers on private property but householders will retain responsibility for the remainder. If any problems arise with the drains/sewers for which you are still responsible it could result in considerable personal expense.
