Objectives

The original 1929 Constitution and Rules of the HEA stated that the objects of the Association which is non-political and non-sectarian shall be

- to foster interest in local government affairs and promote efficient and economical administration of the district

- to act in the interest of members in matters affecting them as a body

- to inquire into and if possible take steps to obtain redress of grievances affecting any part of the districts

- to preserve and develop local amenities

- to extend the Association's activities and interests as seems advisable.
