What We Do

What we do:

The Hatch End Association (HEA) is open to people who live and work in the area. It seeks to protect features of historic or public interest, to promote high standards of planning and architecture, to work with Harrow Council, the police and other agencies to preserve and develop local amenities and act in the interests of members.

The work of the HEA includes:

  • regular monitoring of planning applications and flagging planning enforcement issues to the council
  • attendance at Harrow’s Conservation Area Advisory Committee to protect the Pinner Park conservation area
  • attendance at the Harrow Heritage Trust meetings
  • regular meetings with the police and businesses at the Safer Neighbourhood Panel
  • involvement with the Traffic and Road Safety Advisory Panel on traffic management issues
  • monitoring of licence applications with representations to protect the local amenity
  • production of three Hatch End Association Bulletins a year, with delivery via local road stewards
  • maintenance of the association website
  • the flower displays on Hatch End Broadway through the year with a team of volunteers who water the planters and troughs and care for the plants
  • the arrangements for the Christmas tree on The Broadway with a lights switch-on event in early December
  • support for the three local litter-pick days
  • involvement with the Hatch End-Harrow Triathlon
  • monthly meetings with ward councillors
