Harrow Arts Centre

Harrow Arts Centre (HAC) is the only professional multi-artform venue in the London Borough of Harrow. Based in Hatch End, it offers a vibrant year-round programme of live performances, classes, workshops, and community events – bringing people together through creativity and culture. From music, theatre, comedy and dance to film, family shows and visual arts, HAC is a thriving hub for artists, audiences and local organisations alike. It provides high quality performances on Harrow’s doorstep at accessible prices, ensuring that everyone in the community can experience and participate in the arts. Over the years, it has welcomed some of the UK’s biggest names in comedy and performance, including Chris McCausland and Ed Byrne; Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and the BBC Big Swing Band, alongside an exciting mix of emerging artists and community productions.

Harrow Arts Centre was built on the site of the old Royal Commercial Travellers’ Schools and has been in existence since 1988. At its centre is the magnificent Elliott Hall, a Grade II listed auditorium which seats over 500 people and is one of the borough’s most cherished landmarks. The wider complex includes a range of studios, rehearsal rooms, meeting spaces, and art rooms, which are used by over 350 individuals and organisations each year for creative projects, classes, and small business activity.

The HAC’s work extends far beyond the stage. It delivers a rich programme of creative workshops, dance and drama classes, and community-led events designed to enhance skills, improve well-being, and reduce isolation. Whether through public performances or local partnerships, everything it does is driven by its purpose to make the arts accessible to everyone and to enrich the quality of life across the borough.
