Grimsdyke School Photography Competition 2025

The Association was delighted to present Amazon vouchers to the winners of our annual photographic competition with the students of Grimsdyke School, announced at the end-of-year assembly.

This year’s theme was “Hatch End”, and the standard was exceptionally high.
Below are the winning photographs, along with the students’ own explanations of why they chose their particular spot. If you double click on each photo, you will see it enlarged with the explanation below it.

Reception RD – Aadya Dheeraj

Aadya loves flowers in the summer as “they are colourful and so pretty”.
She also loves trains because her “daddy works with trains!”.
So she wanted to take a picture of the beautiful flowers at Hatch End Station, which she always stops and admires before her train rides.

Year 1K – Liza Balogh

“I took this picture because it looks beautiful. I saw some cows eating fresh green grass.
The cows were black. The grass was long.”

Year 2O – Jahaan Bagrcha

“We took Jahaan to a few places, but this picture with horses, a big green field and a bright sunny day with clear sky was perfect for a good click. He loves nature.”

Year 3F – Rozi

“During my walk with my Dad, I took this photo because I love the view and this path leads to my house.
On the path I can see cows eating grass – they are little dots in the middle!”

Year 4K – Sahar Haydari

“I took this picture of the field near the Grimsdyke Road park (Shaftesbury Playing Fields) in Hatch End. I chose it because it shows a silver line — a symbol of hope.
If you’re feeling a bit gloomy or lonely, it gives you a positive feeling.”

Year 5CM – Sonny Long

Harrow Arts Centre – this is a great place in our community where I have been coming since I was born for baby classes. Now I learn breakdancing here and also enjoy shows.”

Year 6G – Jessie Jukes

“I was inspired to take this photo when I released my butterflies from my Insect Lore kit and one stayed all night. I re-released it and it looked so good on this flower.”
