We will try to make it. We regularly pick up litter in Hatch End because it is getting very filthy. The Broadway / Uxbridge Rd has regular street cleaning but not a deeper clean like many High streets. Hence the build up of cigarettes, broken glass etc. There are also real problems of excessive littering and no street cleaning on Grimsdyke Rd ( and flytipping behind the parade of shops), Uxbridge Rd on the railway bridge, Cornwall Rd, the area around the Arts Centre etc. Plus Morrisons carpark, especially the bushes, is horrendous. Bit of a rant, but it would be nice if the area had a more extensive system of street cleaning beyond the very limited service currently provided. It can’t just be left to volunteers. Compared to other parts of Europe, the litter problem here is remarkably bad.

We acknowledge your comments on the litter in Hatch End. We will pass this on to our local councillor – Matthew Goodwin-Freeman.
