Last summer the Hatch End Association and Grimsdyke School joined forces to organise a story writing competition to help celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We were so impressed by the standard of writing that we decided to award a prize to the best entry in each of the seven years at the school. Each child received a book token. See below for the prize winners’ entries.
Nethra Hariharana – Reception Class
Nilukshi Emmanuela – Year 1
Ella Lakhania – Year 2
As I opened my eyes my maid came in and said “Majesty time to get up you don’t want to miss the best day ever!” she said peacfully. The[n] my maid opened my curtains. Meanwhile I went downstairs. It was really nice of my sons because they put a red carpet down the stairs. It was very generous of them. Then I had my brekfast I had a cookie of me it was delishous. Then I put on my royal sparkly glamouros and white dress.
Then I went in my bright pink limo and went to the River Tems. I got there then unfortunly it started raining. But luckly I had an umbrella so that I didn’t get wet at all. And then royaly I got on to my boat, it had bells, opre [opera] music. It was relly royal. Everyone was screaming and shouting. They were even waving flags that had pictures of me.
There were over 10000 boats there. When I got home I was egsoursted [exhausted] and tired so I went to bed.
